Not a good weekend

Thought it might be a good idea to go back to see the outlaws over the Bank Holiday weekend and it turned out to not be a good idea.

Saturday was a good day we went shopping at Solihull. I treated Carol to an IPOD Mini from my recent overtime and we planned to get back on Sunday night to load up some tracks on it.

Unfortunately on the way back to Mom's on sunday morning we had an accident with a car that was being chased by the police. The car was a right off but fortunately all three of us were generally ok. Carol had a fractured nose, mom had bruising to the chest caused by the seatbelt and I seemed to be largely unscathed.

The following days were a nightmare with frequent visits from the police and the problem of how to get back home without a car - we eventually hired one and got home Tuesday at around 2.00pm. Goodness knows what there is to follow with the police and the dealings with the insurance company etc. - i'll keep you posted...

The last two weeks...

Just got back from 10 days in Romania hence no blogs.

The trip was work and involved a due diligence survey of 30 Bank properties, for me mainly in Bucharest. We has some long days and worked Saturday and Sunday too, on the middle weekend.

Came very close to buying a boat. I had arranged to see a Wayfarer in Norfolk on the weekend of the 20th August but changed my mind because

A) Norfolk is a long way away - especially after a busy two weeks

B) With all of the extra things I would need to buy it was slightly more expensive than I wanted to spend.

Perhaps I will wait until early next year now and see what's available.

So back to work as usual now, although I am in Edinburgh next week just for the day
