That Damn Internet shopping!

Looking around the internet last night and spotted a site selling an interesting collection of photography books. So I just had to get one (and the CD) for my new camera. Something to read whilst I'm waiting for the weather to improve so I can actually take some photo's. Worth a look at http://www.shortcourses.com/

Also I have been looking into headphone amplifiers. Last year a friend of mine bought a pair of Sennheiser HD650 phones (very nice) but reackons that you need to get a good headphone amp to drive them well. A bit of searching and I saw a Musical Fidelity X Can valve, yes valve headphone amp. £150 new but I am tracking one on ebay at the moment. if I do buy this I probably won't be able to afford the phones right away as they cost £250.

Life Universe and Everything

Recieved our at risk letters on the 12th January and now everyone is keen to know what happens next - but no one has told us yet!!

I am starting to play around with a new web site design but having trouble making progress. Have taken a few more piccies with the camera but not so many as I would have liked due to the weather. The weekend is fast approaching so lets hope it stays dry

Booked Our Holiday

At last something a little more interesting to add to the Blog. On Saturday we booked our holiday for this year in Cuba.

It's not until December so we are hoping to get the best of the English weather first and jet off when it is cold and rainy here. The "Discover Cuba" tour is 7 days flying from Gatwick with stops at various hotels around the island. All meals and tours are included and there is something to do every day - yipee!!

Back to the UK and the weather has been quite bad in the Southwest over the last day or so. Fortunately nothing like as bad as up north where there has bee severe flooding in places like Carlisle - poor buggers not a very good start to the New Year.

News on the job from -we should be receiving our "at risk" letters early next week and this will give me a better idea of what happens next.

The End of the Week

And quite a short week only working 4 days. The weather outside is very windy and wet and is set to last for the weekend - no motorcycling today then. A few jobs around the housed to do this weekend and then I aim to begin tidying up my web site which has got a little out of date in recent months.

The Last Day of the Holidays

Well here it is the last day of the Xmas break. Although it seems a long time I'm not really looking forward to going back. be better when I get into the swing of it I suppose.

Today is the "Bank Holiday Walk" where we take the dog for a much extended outing that usually ends up at a fish & chip shop or Pub. Traditionally it was to avoid the Bank Holiday Traffic that typically spoils everyone's day. (and at Weston that's big time).

A few slight worries for this year as the Department of health have decided to close Inventures (where I currently work) supposedly by the 31st March 2005. I will be hanging on a long as I can to see if there is any redundancy payment for me. I am more disappointed than annoyed at the decision made by someone who has literally no idea of what we do and the fact that we actually make a profit!!

Anyway one of my New Year Resolutions is to be a little more chilled out this year and try to worry less about the consequences of my actions (in a responsible way though). Hoping to spend a little more time camping this year too as last year we didn't do any at all and hopefully this will result in spending a little less money, last year seemed expensive!!

That's it for now

A New Year

No don't worry I don't intend to get all philosophical or anything - just thought it would be a good time of the year to start a Blog.
The new year came in with a bit of a whimper but the last few days have been interesting if not a little frustrating. I have been trying to connect my Archos MP3 player to the car audio player but not using the crappy cassette type connection. I saw a lead that plugged into the changer socket at the back of the unit and thought that would be a good idea. The lead was cheap but didn't work, so after much hunting around I managed to get the thing working and it's great.
Also been taking advantage of the good weather recently to take some more piccies and these will be on my site shortly. err I think that's it for now.
