Seems like a good idea...

Good old Stelios has done it again with EasyDVD or some similar title, DVDrental at 1.99 per DVD for up to a month including postage both ways. Seems the perfect accompanyment to a dual layer DVD burner which is performing very nicely. Made my first personal backup copy of Wallace and Gromit without having to compress the disk and it plays back ok on my rather fussy Denon DVD player. Lightscible is great too but problems with Nero 7 recognising lightscribe (Ver 6 does). Downloaded a 3rd party lite vesion of the burning software and everything was fine.

Ying and Yang

Err did I mention that I'd won a HDD/DVD recorder? - oh Sorry... well it arrived this week, on Wednesday to be exact and since then I have been playing around with it to see how it all works. I'm mighty impressed too with the quality of the recorded image, especially on DVD and at XP quality it is superb. It operates slightly different to my Humax recorder and typically there are some features that the present on one machine that are not shared by the other. Still some messing around to do so far until I have it all sussed out.

So that was the Ying - potential couch potatoe times ahead watching/deleting all the stuff that I thought was a good idea to record at the time - now the Yang and it's your fault Boff.

Despite all of the protestations made the other day I have joined a health club. It's Esporta and the local club is in WsM. I had been a few times with Carol as she is already a member and actually quite liked it, so with the offer of no joining fee, reduced subscriptions and the free upgrade to use all other Esportas for free (i.e. Cardiff and London for example) I thought I'd take "the plunge" so to speak. Last night was my first night as a member (so I'm typing this with my nose as it's the only part of my body that doesn't ache - joke) and I have some Personal Training sessions booked (3 free ones) that will set out a programme for me.

Work is as busy as usual, didn't get to go to Milan after all, have given that away to a colleague, but may be going to survey an airport near Rome in two weeks time. Also 1-2 weeks in Dubai is possible if we can sort out a deal (they wanted us there for 4 weeks).

Last weekend I went to London, hadn't been there for at least 3 days, and went shopping rather that attend the dinghy show as intended. Didn't buy much just the Wallace and Gromit DVD but I have started taking a look at a new Tellys and in particular plasma/LCD. No purchase imminent as I have another 6 months of research to do yet.

See Ya soon.
