The Concert Season Has Begun

Started our concert visits with a trip to see Nanci Griffith at Colston Hall Bristol. It was her opening night and she was (as a consumate professional) really great, if perhaps a little short on performance time - you can't get too much of a good thing, can you?

The support act was quite good too Edwina Hayes was a solo singer/songwriter and after playing her set there was quite a flurry in the foyer to purchase her debut CD (me included).

We have a few more events later on in the year including Kate Rusby (May) and Neil Diamond (June) - quite a mix.

Waiting to Leave Inventures Now

The last few days of my time at Inventures seems to be passing quite slowly. As I write this I have 3 working days left (taking some annual leave due to me). As yet there is no definate start for the NewCo and there are no contracts in place for the staff or the prospective clients - hmmmm a little worrying I think. It does give me some confidence that I chose the Arup option and as the date approaches to start, I am looking forward to working in Bristol and Cardiff offices.

Prince 2 complete - now just waiting for the results

I took my second exam just over a week ago now, and the paper didn't seem too bad. After furiously writing for 3 hours I would like to think that I at least managed a pass out of all of the effort. The exam is externally marked so I will need to wait around 6-8 weeks for the results. It won't change my life if I fail, but fingers crossed.

One Down and One to Go

Just finished the foundation part of the Prince 2 course this week with an exam. I got a respectable 85% but the worst one is yet to come as it is a 3 hour written paper. It's open book but anybody who has done exams before will know that it doesn't mean it's easy.

I have been doing a fair bit of studying this week but still had time to have a go on the Playstation. Yesterday I manged a lap without crashing seriously and a more respectable time too.

This weekend I crashed a BMW M5

and an Audi TT,a Mini Cooper and a few other assorted cars. Well it was around the Nubergring and I hadn't been there before... Actually I bought a Playstation 2 at long last, after thinking about buying one for as long as I can remember. The reason was Gran Turismo 4 the latest driving simulator for the PS2.

It's taking a little time to get used to the controls althought the bundle(from Argos) did come with a steering wheel and foot pedals. I think it will be some time before I have mastery of even a few of the many circuits and cars that are available on the disk.
