Blog Update

Been dashing around the Country a bit lately, hence no blogs (also nothing really exciting has happened too) but the latest so far is ...

Have bought a backup Hard Drive for my PC it's a 250 GByte Freecom drive which was immediately recognised by the computer when I attached it. However it seemed to affect the BIOS and when I tried to reboot the computer the next day - it wouldn't. The message "File NTDL not found didn't realy help me much but on exploring the BIOS I found that it had set itself as the boot drive if the disk was turned on when the PC booted. Fixed that and disabled any boot up from removable drives and it seemed to clear it. Tense moment though as I thought Windows was stuffed. Hence I now have Ghost 10 on the machine and this is much better being NTFS friendly and likes removable drives.

Also ordered a Benq DW-1655 DVD Writer and some lightscribe disks to have a play with, arriving around the 28th February I hope. Had to have the black one as there aren't any beige ones available. Will leave my other beige drive and swap it out when Blu Ray/ HD DVD becomes available in the future.

I now have a date for the delivery of my prize from Panasonic. Well the week it's being delivered at least. It's due during w/c 6th March which is fine as I am out and about a lot next week so I wouldn't be able to play with it anyway. Looking forward to that now.

Visited the Bristol Hi-Fi show on the 24th Feb and spent a few hours lusting over the latest and greatest goodies that were on display. Many virtual purchases (in my mind) and some small actual ones including some CD's from Linn.

Weather is very cold at the moment so work on the shed has stopped but basically still in the process of tidying it up and to be honest it's looking good now, perhaps I will have another go tomorrow. Next week it's a day in London (Saturday) when we go to the Sailing Dinghy Show at Alexander Palace, but there are visits to Cardiff, Bristol London and Milan in the meantime.

Blog again soon...
